Thanksgiving
At Our House I
will never forget the Thanksgiving Holiday at
our house. As a young child I would wake
up with frost on the windows, and the smell of
turkey cooking in the oven. The
Macy Day Parade was playing and we would all
gather around the TV to watch the floats of
various sizes being pulled through the
streets. My mother would cook all night to
prepare all the food and we would help her in
the kitchen. What
always compelled me the most is how we would
go around the dinner table, one at at time to
tell what we were most thankful for. Many
times it would be the gratefulness to be off
of school, and the food my mother had
cooked. Yet
looking back, it was the time to together as a
family I was most thankful for. But
what is there to be more thankful for then
food and family and the holidays? It is the
Blood of Jesus that has been shed to allow us
to live eternally. Life does not stop when our
last breath is taken. Our spirit will live on
in Heaven if we choose to accept the very
Jesus that has paid the price for our sins. This
Thanksgiving let us all focus on that blood
that was spilled to give us eternal
life. A true sacrifice that has given us
the time with our family. Our next breath is
not promised. What we do today will truly
affect how we live tomorrow, and how someone
else will live tomorrow. I
hope everyone has a truly wonderful
Thanksgiving Holiday!
Remember, without the grace of God, we wouldn't
be here. Give your thanks to the Lord, for
today is the day he has blessed us with.
