Harvest Teams Prayer Update |
|
| Chilean Strategy Group | March, 1999 |
In Dec. 1998 we asked you to pray for the Canadian Volunteers who were coming to minister in Copiapó. This project took place during February, 1999. A report on this project is being sent as a separate Email .As you read this report, you will see that there were a wide variety of talents used in service. I was encouraged to see the creativity displayed in people who allowed themselves to be used of God to bless others. Thank God for those who came and for those who gave so that they could come to Chile. Also, pray that in these next few months God will bring in a harvest for His kingdom.

1. An association meeting will be held March 20th with Central Valley pastors and church leaders. The topics will be related to prayer ministry and church planting. Pray that there will be excellent attendance and an open spirit of learning.
2. There is a possibility of a starting a Bible Study in the small village of Maule. Please pray for Jackie Bursmeyer and Rosa as they make plans and prepare for this study.
3. The new Chilean prayer teams are forming in the local congregations. Pray that the leader of each prayer team and, at least two other members, will be able to attend the March 20th meeting. Pray that God will encourage those committed to starting Prayer Ministries.
4. Alan and Marilyn Osborne, International Service Corps misionaries are working with this team to build the team Prayer Network and to encourage prayer in the Central Valley Association. Pray that they will be able to accomplish their goals during their 4 month term of service.
1. This team, located in Santiago, will be working to help local congregations use cell methodology to start new work as well as working as a team to establish cell churches. The prayer requests this month are related to the First National Cell Ministry Conference which will be held at the Baptist Seminary in Santiago. The dates are March 25-27.
2. Pray for Dr. Hayden Center (pastor, Montgomery, Ala.) and Dr. Larry Wakefield who will be the Conference leaders.
3. Pray that the Chilean pastors and lay leaders will be open to the concepts and teaching which will be presented.
4. Pray that the Cell Ministries Team can adequately do the follow-up to help local churches effectively apply and implement Cell concepts to the local situation.
5. Pray that the churches who send their leaders to the Conference will be open to receive new ideas and teachings.
FIFTH REGION HARVEST TEAM:
6. Pray that the local Baptist Association will send leaders who are open to innovation to the Cell Church Conference in March, 1999.

8. Pray for the first group of 8 students who will attend the Missions Training Course at a new facility in the town of Nogales (V Region). The course will last 3 months. Pray that this course of training will be effective in preparing young people for church planting. The training begins at the end of March, 1999
9. Pray for new team member, Karen Wright, as she continues to adjust to a new city and becomes familiar with the Harvest Team vision and Master Plan. Karen formerly worked in Concepción, Chile on a Pioneer Team. Karen´s parents in the U.S. have had some health problems this year...pray that she will be encouraged in all circumstances.

The home Bible Study which has been meeting for a number of months in Sindempart, a suburb of Coquimbo, is discussing a change in their meeting time from mid-week to Sunday, thus launching a new church.
