| I Was Thinking ... 06/13/11 As you can see it's been a while since I've thought on this page. We have been so blessed in the past year or so, but we still NEED massive help to reach our area for Jesus! We have a new church in Martinsburg, PA because of a team from Waco, GA coming up and helping the Borough of Roaring Spring for two summers. This led to our meeting some folks who wanted to work people like that, and new church was planted! This is a contemporary service church that meets currently on Saturday evenings! Please pray for their continued growth, and for more churches to come to CVBA and help us do work in thirty other communities with the prayer of starting a church by serving the Borough and people. 08/20/09 What a wonderful summer! We had more churches, and groups, and more people doing more things across CVBA then ever in our history! Many of our churches have new members, many professions of faith, or a positive impact in their communities as a direct result of the churches of York Baptist Association of Rock Hill, SC, Jackson Park BC of Kannapolis, NC, Clay Hill from Black Creek Association in Fla., A team from WV, First Baptist church of Waco, GA. and an associational team from Illinois! Thank you to all who came and served!! Let's do it again next year! 03/02/09 God is blessing all over the place! Shannon Creek Baptist Church baptized 14 a month or so ago, New Hope Baptist church has baptized 13 to date, and has three or four more waiting! We are on track with linking up groups with churches in CVBA with folks from Rock Hill, SC! We have Dennis Pethers from England meeting with us this week. He is an evangelist with great news of what God is doing. Pray for all God is seeking to do for us. 12/10/08 We are seeing the answers to prayer. York Baptist Association of Rock Hill S.C. is bringing 100-200 people this next summer to help us! Their advance man will be with us this weekend! We are excited about what God wants to do through them. Also, Northwest GA Baptist Association is going to help us with preachers for an evangelistic outreach in April of 08! What a blessing this is! A family moved up here from Knoxville, TN this month to plant a church in our association. This began with a phone call last February when Hank said to me, "I believe God wants me to come plant a church in Brookville, PA! Now they are here! What would God have you to do? We still have over 750,000 people who need to hear about Jesus. When you consider that one in four 18-22 year olds call themselves atheists (source OM Magazine winter 2009 issue) our work is well cut out for us here. 03/26/08 How gracious God is to provide! We have been blessed this month with two different groups coming through CVBA looking for places to serve. Please pray as they seek to understand all that they saw, and how they can plug into the needs. We are also blessed with folks calling and saying they believe God is calling them to CVBA to plant a church. Please pray for about 25 more folks like this as that is how many churches we need to start, yesterday! are you one of those? 11/14/07 What a joy to see the people in Quito, Ecuador! Many are so hungry for the gospel! We spent Tuesday through Saturday meeting Pastors like Bro. Thierre of Iglasia Bautista Shekinah. They are going to their fourth service soon. They already have an incredible men's ministry called Men of Valor. Bro. Tom Fogg, from Ligonier Baptist Church, and I were able to share our testimonies with the men's group that evening. We all had a great time, and a great time of fellowship after the meeting. We saw the middle of the world, the equator. What an interesting visit that was. There is so much animism attached to the middle of the world as it is called. It shows the need of the gospel there. Quito is a city of 2.5 million people. You can see great wealth and great poverty all in the same valley. All are in need of Christ. The people are very gracious. We talked with many and they were all receptive. We plan to take two to three small groups a year to Quito. If you would like to go with us, get your passport now if you do not have one already. there are very good guest accommodations there and they are VERY reasonable. If we get a good price on tickets, the trip can be done for around 1,200 dollars on a bare bones basis. So, start saving money as well for the trip. We hope take prayer walking teams, Spanish gospel tracts, and later some medical mission teams, and some construction folks, and some music folks, etc. Watch this website for more details. to see more of what we saw go to www.godlovesquito.blogspot.com you can also keep up with the Lamcas here and at www.chipandjuliefamilynews.blogspot.com 09/24/07 Church Plant Needs. We invite you to check out Penn/South Jersey's new website at www.pennjerseycp.com you can learn all about church planting in Penn/South Jersey. You can also read up on potential church plant sites all across our state convention. If we are to reach a goal of 1,000 by 2010 we need to rapidly increase our church planting efforts. What would God have you do to help in this area? We could also use financial support for church planting. Perhaps you yourself cannot come a and plant a church, but you, or your church, could help make it possible for others to do so. One of the things that slows us down is the area of financial support. We have many church plant sites that have as many as 8,000 to 40,000 people, most of whom need to hear about Jesus, and that is just in CVBA! What would God have you do?
02/19/07 What kind of legacy are we leaving for those behind us? Consider these thoughts: 1. America is now the third largest mission field in the world. More missionaries are coming to America then all the missionary sending agencies in America are sending to the rest of the world. 2. The vast majority of our fellow citizens do not believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven, though Jesus said in John 14:6" ... I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." 3. At least half of the people we claim on our church rolls cannot be found! 4. There are many on our church rolls that are not born again, that means unregenerate! 5. We have given up on revivals, door to door work, Sunday school many places), and more than one worship service a week. Consider this: 1. Door to door still works for groups that do not hold to the truth. Why would it not work for those who have the truth? 2. Still 88% of people who begin attending church do so because someone, usually someone they know, asked them to come. (Only 2% report coming because a Pastor asked them. No reflection Pastors, there are a lot more church folks. What if we ALL brought one person each week, or even a month?) 3. We need to be more intentional in reaching out to the lost all around us. (Could be prayer walking a neighborhood, or a community, could be establishing a CARE, Grow, or FAITH ministry, could be doing community projects, could be servant ministry projects, and so much more) 4. We are always one generation away from losing sight of who Jesus is and what He has done for the lost. What kind of Legacy are we leaving?
