The Badajoz Baptist is the oldest Baptist church in Extremadura started in 1975. Today the church has a full time pastor, Julio Chafer. The church owns a two story building in which sanctuary, baptistry, Sunday School classrooms, kitchen and church office are on the ground floor.  The pastor's family lives in the recently renovated parsonage on the second floor.  In the summertime the church worships on Sunday mornings at 12 noon and in winter they celebrate in the evenings at 6:30 p.m.  The church also holds a public Wednesday night prayer meetings in the church at 8 p.m.

Currently Badajoz Baptist has 50 members with around 80 in weekly attendance.

The church began in Badajoz around 1975 in the homes of Spanish Baptists who had moved from Córdoba. After a Decision campaign in July 1979, the church rented its first public storefront (or "local") .  FMB missionary Bob Worley discipled many new converts. The church rented a second "local" before it purchased and remodeled its current facility. Other IMB missionary pastors included the Littles and the Rogers before the work was turned over to Spanish Baptist Union in 1999 and the church called Julio Chafer as their first national pastor.
