Dambura

the sun comes up over the crowded homes of the haruma slums. the light glints of the brown mabati roves. Dambura wakes up to the sounds and smells of poverty. her sister shares abed with her on the floor of their bedroom/lving room. Dambura wakes up before sunrise to get ready for school. she drags her sister out of bed and helps her get ready. there is o breakfast except for a cup of tea. she walks down a muddy street along a river of sewage to get to school. her school is a small room with 30 other students of varying ages. after a day of school she and her sister go to home to eat lunch if there is any. then she walks back to school.

Dambura loves to draw. but she doesn't often have anything to color with but when she does she feels like she's on top of the world. she coveres every piece of papre she can find with her creative artwork. she sees beautiful things in a world where there are very few beautiful things to find. she gos to a church that is a beaken of light to a world gone dark. they reach out to children like Dambura and help them grasp their dreams and teach them about a God that loves them.

there really is a child named Dambura who lives in a loca slum here in kenya. the second paragraph is all true. the first paragraph is a narration on the typical life of a slum child. the second paragraph is all true. there is a church in the slums really making a difference. if you are interested in learning about the church and how to be a part contact me at horselover31@gmail.com
