"And how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach unless they are sent?" Romans 10:14b-15

List of Needs

Household Expenses-We of course need to be able to buy food, pay rent, electricty, cooking gas, water, phone, internet etc. ($1400-Per Month)

Household Items-4 beds, 4 chests of drawers, 1 refrigerator, 1 dining room set, 1 living room set, book shelves, cutlery, towels, sheets, blankets, curtains, water filter, propane tank and regulator for our cook stove, lamps, night tables. (We sold most of our furniture when we moved from Northern Kenya, we lived on this money  while we lived in the furnished house of a friend.  Now that we are in our own house, it would be good if we could purchase these items.) Total cost of all items about ($3000-One time)

Transportaion-We have several friends who allow us to borrow their vehicle from time to time.  We would be much freer to do our ministry if we had our own vehicle.  Automobiles in Kenya are charged a 100% import duty so they are much more expensive than vehilces in the USA.  For a reliable used vehicle large enough for our family of 5 it will take about ($10.000-One Time).

Ministry-The items we have mentioned above are all living necessities.  In order to be able to be effective in our ministry we need to be able to pay for a language helper, have money for petrol to go to language classes.  We will need money to travel to Northern Kenya to plant churches among the Borana People.  We will need to be able to pay for either permanent or temporary (tents) housing in Northern Kenya. ($2000-Per Month)

Adoption-We are still incurring expenses with the adoption.  The biggest one left to be paid is the last half of the lawyer's fee which is  ($1000-One Time).

Dental Work-Leah needs to have a crown that broke replaced. ($300-One Time)

Travel to USA-We have not seen our families in almost 4 years.  When the adoption is complete we would like to travel back to the USA for a visit (furlough) Tickets for a family of 5 will be around ($8000.  ALSO people could donate their airmiles to send us home.)

Other Needed Benefits-Medical Insurance,  Security Service, Vacation, Retirement Fund, and College Fund.  ($1500-Per Month)

Please PRAY about your involvement in our lives.

We are independent missionaries working in Kenya.  Our passion is to see the nomadic Borana People come to know Jesus as their Savior.  We are trying to reach these desert dwelling nomads through Chronological Bible Storying.  We are looking for prayer partners and financial supports.  We are grateful for one time donations.   We are also asking people to pray about supporting our ministry on monthly basis with a commitment to donate $15, $25 or $50 each month.  Please pray and ask God if He is asking you to support our ministry in this way.

We have sold most of our household goods over the last year and we have been living off of that money as well as our savings.  We have just moved into our own house and we have several friends who allow us to borrow their car from time to time.  We are praying for God's provision for the following items so that we may set up our own house, have our own transportation and most importantly be able to resume our work with the Borana People.  This work has been on hold because of the lack of funds to continue it.

Your support enables us to take the GOOD NEWS to the Borana People.

Financial Needs

  1. Why Do We Need Contributions?
  • We are now staying in Kenya as independent missionaries, living by faith.  This means that we  derive our personal living expenses and the expenses of the ministry to the Borana People through  contributions from  individuals, and churches.
  • Carolina Adoption Services requires our income to be above US Poverty level before we can proceed with the adoption.  This means that we need to have an average of $2100 a month income to meet that requirement.
  1. Is Your Contribution Tax-Deductible?-YES

THANK YOU for folllowing God's guidance to help us spread the gospel to the unreached, nomadic Borana of Northern Kenya.
