Sending Funds to the Field
Electronic
Banking has made the "Slow Boat to China" method pretty obsolete. Now,
anyone can get funds to the field within ten days with very little cost involved.
Because of electronic banking, ATM Cards, etc - the missionary has immediate access to
funds once these funds are placed into a stateside bank. If you wish to send any
funds to Leonard and Susie Smith, here is what you should do:
If time is critical, contact Leonard and Susie to ask if there is another route for
moving money faster than the usual method of sending it through the BBFI Office.
Otherwise, send it to the BBFI Office. Make sure you indicate to whom it
should go and indicate the purpose of sending the funds. Just mail it to:
Baptist Bible Fellowship International
PO Box 191
Springfield, MO 65801
In the FOR Space, write Leonard
Smith - (Purpose?). They will notify Leonard and he
can access the funds with his ATM Card.
BBFI will send you a receipt that can be used for your Tax Records.
DO NOT send personal checks to the field. Not
only is there the risk that they will not arrive, but these must be mailed back to the
states in order to cash them. Personal Checks are difficult to cash in Mexico and
the cost of doing so is expensive.
A notification by email to Leonard is a good idea - especially if it is your first
time.
If you have any doubts or questions, ask Leonard and Susie by email.
