Jayme was born in Redding, California but by age four her parents had accepted
the call to full time missions. Her family served with the IMB for 11
years in Hong Kong. Growing up as an MK she was constantly around fellow
missionaries and journeymen. This was a major influential factor in her
decision to return to the mission field. She is a graduate of
Mississippi College located in Clinton, Mississippi.
Jayme will be living in Nampula working with the Makhuwa team as they develop
and produce tracts and discipleship literature in both Portuguese and Makhuwa.
She will be actively involved in ministry as she shares the gospel of Jesus
Christ with the Mozambican nationals. She will also be working closely
along side Dianne Randolph, our Strategy Coordinator, in helping her with some
administrative duties.

Jayme has been studying Portuguese full
time since she arrived in Nampula in May. She will complete her
language study in early August and will begin her publications work.
She has is currently visiting many of the local churches in order to
meet the pastors she will be working with. |
| Jayme and Dianne were able to participate in a young
womans initiation ceremony. This is an issue that Dianne has been
praying about for many years. The ladies from one of our churches
wanted to have a Christian ceremony so they were both very excited and
honored to be a part of the weekend festivities! They were even
invited to wear the matching capalana and lancu (traditional headwrap)! |

Jayme has just finished participating in a two week
literature conference. At the conference she worked with Pastor
Caetano and Anselmo, one of our church members, and together they
produced 10 Bible stories, a folk story, and an AIDS booklet in
Makhuwa. This literature will be used as primers for beginning readers
and to spread the gospel among the Makhuwa people of Nampula province. |
