Mike McCoy

Until All Have Heard

Mike was born and raised in Portland Oregon.  God saved him at the age of 18, and called him to serve on the mission field at the age of 20.  He is a graduate of Portland State University with a degree in International Studies. 

    Mike is living in the city of Nampula, but the majority of the ministry that the Lord has him a part of takes place throughout the Northern three provinces of Mozambique (Niassa, Cabo Delgado, and Nampula).  He is  working  in these areas along side the Mozambique Christians, with the purpuse of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost. Mike is also gathering much needed information on the receptivity of the gospel, locations of churches and religous meeting places (from all denominations and religions), and studying the culture of each people group to better understand how to reach them for Christ.  This information will be used to help determine where the most immediate attention needs to be focused for ministry, and for placing future career missionaries.  

 Mike is also helping to coordinate and lead volunteer teams from the United States to come and serve with the Mozambique Christians to reach their country for Jesus Christ.     

• Please pray that in everything God will be glorified.
• Pray that God will brake down the strongholds of Islam and African tribal religion.
• Pray that the Lord will open the eyes and hearts of the lost here in the North of MZ. 
• Pray that the Lord will open up the doors for Mike to build a friendships with his Muslim neighbors.
• Pray for Charles ( A young man who came to Christ in early March) that God would grow him in his personal walk with Jesus, and that he would have a passion to pray, read his bible and share his faith.
• Please pray for Charles, Benidito and Chambo as Mike disciples them. 
• Pray for the preparation of the different volunteer teams that are coming from the United States. (1^st Baptist Montgomery; Tabernacle; group led my Benny King; a group led by Jim Ellison).
• Pray that Mike will continue to improve in speaking Portuguese, learn Makhuwa, and learning to share his faith in these languages.
• Pray for Kyengye a Congolese refugee who Mike is meeting with, he is not a believer.
