Elijah Joaquín Martinez

My name is Elijah.  I'm named after the great Old Testament prophet of God.  I was born on July 19th, 2001 in New Orleans, Louisiana.   I now have two sisters and they are driving me crazy!!  The truth is I really love them both even if they out-vote me 2 to 1.  My mom and my dad say that I have lots of energy like the Energizer bunny ^©.

Here in  Huancane they call me Elias.  I love to go outside and play with my friends.  One of my favorite things is for mommy and daddy to read books to me.  Sometimes we read in English and sometimes we read in Spanish. 

My Spanish has really improved since I made so many friends.  Soon I will speak better than my parents!

I'm almost 6 years old and I really have changed in the last few years.  I'm very smart, I can now read in 2 languages.  I go to Peruvian school and I home school! I learn all kinds of things but especially how to sing the Peruvian National Anthem.  My parents tell me that I am an American and also need to learn our National Anthem.  How many national anthems can you sing?  Somos libres seamoslo....
