Ricardo Joaquín Martinez
My name is Ricardo Joaquín Martinez, but most people call me Rick. I was born in Los Angeles, California to Cuban parents on July 2, 1973. Yes, that makes me 34 years old. When I was six, my family moved to Miami FL and live there to this day.
When I was 22 years old I made the best decision I could ever possibly make when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. My life has never been the same since. So much has happened since I dedicated my life to Jesus, where does one begin? Well, first of all, God called me into the ministry to serve and glorify Him forever. God has also given me a wonderful wife named Kelly and three beautiful children named Elijah, Olivia and Gabriela. We spent almost 4 years living in New Orleans as I attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While in seminary, Kelly and I both understood that God was calling us to dedicate our lives ministering cross culturally. Basically, God has called us to be missionaries. After finishing seminary in December of 2002, we headed off to Bolivia to receive Aymara language training. Now we are in Huancane, Peru ministering to the Aymara people.
