| Animism | Animism is thought to be one of the earliest types of spiritualism practiced by humans. Usually, animism is thought of as a belief that everything (living or sometimes otherwise) contains a 'soul'. An animist believes that the power of existence is equally revealed in all creatures or things. An animal, rock, etc. is as important as a human. All things in nature are considered living including mountains, rocks, etc. This attitude arose from the feeling that there are spiritual entities behind all living things in addition to their earthly forms. Animism influenced man's expression in art: since the religion was about forces that surround man constantly, he produced such forms as masks, totems, and idols. |
| Church Planter | One who is called of God to go to an area in need of evangelism and discipleship, and as a member of that community, begin working to fulfill those needs, with the intention of leaving that community, having equipped the community to evangelize and disciple on its own, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. |
| People Group | This is a way of grouping people according to some distinguishing cultural or linguistic line. It is a classification of people who have a common language, culture or belief system. (Some would have previously referred to them as tribes). |
| People Group Team | This is a group of individuals, working together, with the purpose of winning a specific people group to Christ. |
| Salvation | You may be asking what all of this is about. Salvation refers to the
gift that Jesus Christ offers. This gift is free and has been offered to all of us.
As it is a gift, it only has to be accepted. This gift is eternal life in
heaven. The most important question of life may be: Do you have absolute assurance you are going to heaven when you die? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? In the Bible God gives us His plan for our salvation. Salvation from the penalty of sin which is eternity in hell. It also means to be saved from a meaningless life in this world. Jesus Christ in your life can give you hope and a purpose for living. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How? God loved you so much He gave his only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. "... He hath made Him [Jesus, Who knew no sin] to be sin for us ... that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21). "...God commandeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Although we cannot understand how, God laid my sins and your sins upon Jesus and he died in our place. "God...commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent" (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross. In Acts 16:30-31, the Phillipian jailer asked Paul and Silas: "...'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' And they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved....'" Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it! God's simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus, Who died in your place, you will spend an eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins, and His gift of eternal salvation by faith. You say, "Surely it cannot be that simple." Yes, that simple! It is scriptural. It is God's plan. If you haven't believed on Jesus, do so now and receive Him as your Savior today. |
