Welcome to Venezuela—a land rich in oil, beauty queens, baseball players and renowned Latin soap operas—a land of unrivaled beauty and geographical diversity including the Andes Mountains, the Gran Sabana, the Amazon Basin, modern urban centers and gorgeous tropical beaches. Venezuela is home to about 26 million of the world’s population and 35 different people groups. The Orientales [oarr-ee-en-TAHL-es] of North Eastern Venezuela is one of these people groups. The purpose of Praying for Eastern Venezuela is to introduce you to the Orientales and give you a chance to know who they are and what they are like. The most effective prayer supporters are those who take the time to understand the culture and life of the people for whom they pray.
